EXTRA STROKE VARIETY

There is a most interesting variety that is found on the 4c value of the Japanese Lithographed issue, Scott 89, SG 99. It consists of an extra character on the upper right Chinese character “Ssu” for “4”. I found this variety many years ago, but have been unable to determine if it is constant or if it has previously been reported.
